Spiritual Gifts and the Work of the Spirit
This deserves its own section because The Outpost believes the Holy Spirit is active today. We should communicate that conviction while making it clear that Scripture governs how spiritual gifts are practiced.
WE BELIEVE GOD IS STILL AT WORK THROUGH HIS SPIRIT. We believe the Holy Spirit has not ceased working in the lives of God's people. The Spirit equips believers with gifts for the strengthening of the church, the service of others, and the advancement of the gospel.
We welcome the Spirit's work and desire to see believers grow in spiritual maturity, discernment, courage, love, and faithfulness. We also believe spiritual experiences must never replace Scripture or become a reason for pride, manipulation, disorder, or division.
Scripture instructs the church to pursue love, eagerly desire spiritual gifts, test what is taught, and ensure that everything builds up the body of Christ and is done in an orderly way.
We want a church that is open to the Spirit's work, firmly anchored in the Word, centered on Jesus, and marked by love.
Spiritual gifts are given to serve the church not to elevate individuals.

EQUIPPING THE SAINTS. SHEPHERDING THE FAMILY.
We believe Jesus is the head of the church and that church leaders are called to serve under His authority and the authority of Scripture.
The Outpost intends to be led by a pastor and a plurality of biblically qualified elders who share responsibility for shepherding the congregation, protecting sound doctrine, providing spiritual oversight, and equipping believers for ministry.
We believe leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege to control others. Leaders must pursue the character and qualifications described in Scripture, lead with humility, and remain accountable.
We believe every Christian is called to grow in Christ and help others do the same. Discipleship is not simply the transfer of information; it is learning to obey Jesus in every area of life, within relationships that encourage truth, repentance, perseverance, and love.
Our desire is to build biblical men, women, and young people who know God's Word, live out the gospel, serve faithfully, and make disciples in their homes, churches, and communities.
Scripture references: Ephesians 4:11–16; 1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9; 1 Peter 5:1–4; Matthew 28:18–20.
Our Commitment to Discipleship
We believe every follower of Jesus is called to grow in spiritual maturity and participate in making disciples. Discipleship is more than attending church or gathering information. It is learning to obey Jesus in every area of life, being transformed by God's Word, and helping others do the same.
At The Outpost, we want to build biblical men, women, and young people who know Scripture, demonstrate Christlike character, and live out their faith in their homes, workplaces, church, and community.
We want families strengthened by the gospel, marriages marked by faithfulness and sacrificial love, men and women equipped for godly service, and young people grounded in biblical truth. We want generations to teach and encourage one another to follow Jesus faithfully.
We believe the church should be a spiritual family, not a collection of isolated individuals or competing cliques. We are called to bear one another's burdens, speak truth in love, pursue holiness together, and serve our neighbors.
Rooted in the Word. Built in Community. Sent on Mission.
